Gray
Iron, which is also known as "cast iron", is the
most common of the iron alloys.
Somerset and Watsontown Foundries produce Gary Iron class
25, 30, 35, 40 and 50. All of which are in accordance with
ASTM A48 standards. Somerset can produce castings weighing
from ounces to 18,000 pounds and Watsontown can handle up
to 2000 pounds.
Gray
Iron castings are suited for a variety of industries, including
automotive, heavy machinery, value and transportation. This
iron has many favorable qualities such as vibration dampening,
strength, good machinability and low cost.
