a marketing philosophy aimed at soliciting the unusual along
with the usual and a corporate policy of utilizing modern
technology in a continuing program to improve methods and
facilities, Somerset Consolidated Industries may indeed have
“uncommon capability.”
Somerset Foundry, located 70 miles east of Pittsburgh, PA
on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, offers their customers the capability,
at one plant, of having castings produced in a multitude of
metal types and size ranges. This jobbing and semi-production
foundry has distinguished itself in various industries for
its ability to promptly deliver high quality, intricately
cored large castings. The foundry has established relationships
with various suppliers, which means Somerset has the ability
to meet customer’s productions needs, such as machining
and heat treating.
Watsontown Foundry was founded in the 1880’s. Originally
a captive foundry for a railroad car builder, it became a
job shop foundry in the early 1900’s. Serving customers
in 10 states and Canada, the foundry manufactures cored pressure
castings for producers of steam turbines, water pumps and
valves, compressors, fluid power pumps and valves and mechanical
transmission equipment. Watsontown Foundry is located 15 miles
south of Williamsport, PA and is within 4 hours truck drive
from New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, Baltimore, Hagerstown,
Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Erie and Buffalo. |
